Telenor Idea Generation Weekend 2014
In October 2014, Project Hub ran a 2-day intensive Idea Generation Weekend with 20 youth selected by Telenor as finalists for the Telenor Youth Summit. Participants were able to refine their big idea for how mobile tech can do social good through PHY workshops on idea generation, problem identification, social impact, business models and presentation skills. At the end of the weekend, participants pitched their big idea to Telenor Staff and the PHY team. Two winners were selected to represent Myanmar at the 2014 Telenor Youth Summit.
The Project Hub Fellowship
In 2013, Project Hub Yangon ran the first incubation program in Myanmar providing support for 5 Myanmar start-ups. This program was supported by Ringier AG, a Swiss media company. They then pitched their businesses to a room full of investors and business persons during the 1st Investor Pitch Night. Two of the business - Bindez & Blink PR - continue to run and grow today, each having received investment from foreign firms. Another two of the participants have gone on to launch a new business together in the IT sector.
